About Štrba A stay in the High Tatras, thanks climate conditions and clean air has beneficialinfluence on human organism. Many visitors come here for tourist walks in the mountains, but the surroundings of the High Tatras are rich on opportunities for sports and cultural living. Strba-the village at the foot of the High Tatras, resting in the height of ca. 900 metersabove the sea level is ready to welcome its visitors. It was founded in 1928, and there are 4000 inhabitants living here at present. It is a distinctive village, in whichtraditional wooden architecture takes turns with guest houses and modern family houses, adjusted to accommodate guests. Luxurious accomodation with the opporutunity of cooking creates the atmosphere of privacy, and is resonable. Each house in the village is connected to cable television. Meals and refreshments are offered by restaurant establishment in the village and in its surroundings. We can offer, in addition to accommodation , exchange office, tourist map and picture postcard sales, ski and mountain bike rentals, lookout flights over the High Tatras, full day trips to attractive areas of Eastern and Central Slovakia. In winter, there are good conditionsfor both downhill and cross-country skiing here. Direct in the village, there is a ski-lift for families with children. Well-known is the ski centre inthe High Tatras Strbske Pleso, but the same quality have the ski centre in the Low Tatras – Svit and Liptovska Teplicka.
