Bratislava – Slovenska sporitelna Gallery

The art collection of the Slovenska Sporitelna is the first and only compact collection of fine arts in Slovakia outside the grounds of museums and galeries. First documents pointing to the acquisition activity date back to 1924. The most remote work in time in this art collection dates back to 1912. The core of the collection, however, are the artworks of the period starting in the 20s until the 40s. Over the course of the following decades, the collection has been expanding embracing new artworks, different artistic areas, styles and movements. The artworks of Slovak, Moravian, Czech and Hungarian painters are represented in collection of the Slovenska Sporitelna.
