Liptovsky Mikulas – P. M. Bohun Gallery

The Gallery was founded in 1955 with the aim to collect, protect, manage and scientifically process works of ancient and modern art and make them accesible to the public, taking in also ongoing events in the domain of art. Besides contemporary art, the core of its activity also includes 19th century works of art where the axtensive collection of P.M. Bohúň takes pride of place. The gallery's collec­ting activity covers the entire Slovakia, but particularly focuses on the region of Liptov and its environs. The gallery building, originally from the end of the 18th century reconstructed in its present appearance and rebuild specially for the needs of the gallery in the seventies, 20th century.
