Ruzomberok – Ludovit Fulla Gallery
The Gallery was built to deposit and exhibit works of art presented to the Slovak National Gallery by Ludovit Fulla (1902–1980), one of the most distinguished Slovak artists, whose work was closely linked to modern European art streams. This versatile and gifted artist, painter, graphic artist, illustrator, creator of large decorative works, set designer and teacher spent the last two years of his life in that house. The project of the house, made by the architect S. Hatala, was designed by M. Kusy (1964–1965). The Gallery opened in 1969. The visitors can see the permanent exhibition of painting, graphic art, drawing, illustrations, tapestries and exhibits of applied arts. The artist's studio and his study are also open to the public. Temporary exhibitions and annual art shows of works of laureates of the L. Fulla Prize and of the L. Fulla Scholarship are organized here by the Slovak National Gallery. Besides, the Gallery offers its visitors programmes on the artist's life and work, concerts of classical music and cultural programmes for a wide public. The Gallery provides guided tours and sells catalogues, posters and postcards.
