Spisska Nova Ves – Spis Artist's Gallery
The Spiš Artists' Gallery was founded in 1987 and is oriented to collecting, documenting and researching of works of art in relation to Slovakia, with a specific reference to Spiš. The gallery's fund is predominantly made up of works by regional artists since the 2nd half of the 19th century down to the present times (painting, sculpture, prints and photography) numbering over 800 pieces. The gallery is located in a monument-protected Renaissance building from the 2nd half of the 16th century, with a wealth of interesting architectural details. In 1726 it was given a Baroque facade and in the of the 18 th century minor building-technical adjustment were made in the back wing and the first floor in the Neo-Classicist style.
