Zilina – Povazie Art Gallery
The collections in the regional gallery at Žilina were built up gradually on the premises of the former Regional Museum which was renamed in 1960 The Považie museum and Gallery. In 1976 this institution was split into two independent units and the Považie Gallery acquired the modern art collections. In 1991 it changed its name to the Považie Art Gallery. In building up the collections the gallery concentrates on 20th century art in Slovakia and specifically in the domain of drawing.
