This museum at Piestany was founded in 1931 thanks to the Piestany Museum Society and the Winter family, lessors of the Piestany spa. It was of a local-history character, but since 1966 specializes in balneology and the history of Slovak watering places and climatic spa. The museum is located in the Spa Hall, socalled Kursalon, built in 1893, where also exhibitions of balneohistory, mineral waters in Slovakia, ethnography and archaeology are installed.
