Tatranska Lomnica – Museum of the Tatra National Park
The Museum of the TANAP takes contact with traditions reaching back to 1883 when the Hungarian Carpathian Society set up the Carpathian Museum at Poprad. In 1949 the law on the TANAP came into vigour. One of the tasks of TANAP's Management was to set up a research station and a museum. Until 1959 the TANAP Museum had its seat at the Podtatranské múzeum at Poprad. After it had been moved to Tatranská Lomnica, the first exhibition was installed in the so-called Sécsényi's summer house. But the next exhibition was already housed in a new building – one of the first purpose-designed in Slovakia. The collections museum hold rate article from botany, zoology, history and ethnography.
