Zvolen – Forestry and Timber Museum
By 1922 (as a Municipal Museum) the museum had been oriented to present the historical problems of the region of Zvolen. The beginnings of the museum dates back to the year 1942, but the fist exposition was open in 1944. Since 1966 the museum has been acting in a past town hall, which is a historical monument. In 1992 the museum got forestry and timber expositions from a museum in Sväty Anton and changed its name into the Museum of Forestry. At present it presents history of forestry and timber in Slovakia, and also history of the Zvolen region.
